PENTACLE
The Pentacle is correctly seen, initially at least, as a pagan symbol.
It is regarded as significant by modern followers of Wiccan. The symbol has been perversely associated with Satanism. If, however, it is correctly oriented (as in picture) it becomes a strong, positive affirmation.
The four lower points represent the elements, Air, Fire, Water and Earth with the top point, Spirituality, ruling over them. The Pentacle is the seal of the 'Universal Person'; it expresses a desire for a balance of elements and energies.
It is a symbol of Protection. For those who so believe, a 'space drawing' of the Pentagram is used to invoke Protection. The signing begins at the left breast, with the right hand, to the forehead, to the right breast, left shoulder, right shoulder and ends at the left breast. A cycle is complete, the end is the beginning.
This signing was used long before Christians began to cross themselves with four points of reference.
